Truth or Rumor https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=satellite-connections-in-apple-smartwatch/ https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=satellite-connections-in-apple-smartwatch/#respond Wed, 11 Dec 2024 11:11:22 +0000 https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=?p=250166 It seems like Apple is planning to introduce satellite connections in Apple smartwatch soon which will add a spice to its texting capabilities. However, this exciting update is expected to be released in 2025 and allows users to send texts through a satellite connection.

The Verge claimed that “Satellite connections in Apple smartwatch Ultra has been rumored since before we even knew what Apple’s XL-sized sporty take on its smartwatch line would be called. But now Gurman’s description stepped in and told us that “It would work as it does on the iPhone, letting you send text messages from the watch without a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.

Satellite connections in Apple’s Smartwatch are allowed by Globalstar fleet of satellites, and Apple’s ultra watch could be the first one to offer satellite facilities while being the mainstream smartwatch.

Moreover, according to the Bloomberg report, the upcoming Apple Watch is expected to have bigger changes and add some medical features. It would allow users to monitor their blood pressure levels, which may also arrive in 2025. Also, it is being said that Apple has been working to add more health-focused capabilities to its products. In September, the company unveiled a new smartwatch, which could discover longer-term health conditions such as sleep apnea, and respond to emergencies.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Really Worth the Investment or Not https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=samsung-galaxy-z-fold6/ https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=samsung-galaxy-z-fold6/#respond Tue, 22 Oct 2024 10:00:00 +0000 https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=?p=249519 Modern fold phones, which open like a book to transform into a mini tablet, seem like an intriguing concept. Now the sixth generation of Samsung foldable phones is here, and every year we have seen small refinements. The Samsung Unpacked event revealed six new products, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6.

The new Galaxy Z Fold6 is so close to its non-folding siblings in every way, with improved durability, excellent software, slimmer designs, brighter screens, and lighter weight. All this makes the Galaxy Z Fold6 the best foldable phone for you if you can cope with its eye-wateringly high price with the not-so-good-quality camera and lack of Galaxy AI features.

This Fold6 review post shares all the new updates Samsung gives us in this foldable phone.

What We Found Best in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6

The biggest advantage of a foldable phone is the ability to prop it up without a kickstand. So, the Galaxy Z Fold6 does a good job with its folding screen and hinge. Samsung refers to this phone’s halfway fold at a 90-degree angle as “flex mode,” which ensures apps follow the screen. When you prop the display open like a laptop in the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, certain apps shift to the top half of the screen. The screen stretches across like a waterfall, which isn’t the best viewing experience.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 split screen

However, the Galaxy Z Fold6 performs much better in splitting screen apps compared to the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, making it more useful for managing work and playing games simultaneously. Well, this is not a compelling enough reason to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, as it now stands on par with traditional smartphones. It is water and dust-resistant at IP48; overall durability has improved, and specifications are more like the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Moreover, the new angular sharp edges and wider screen size are particularly impressive. While the phone is quite thick, using this 6.3-inch screen feels completely normal. However, with a 4,400-mAh battery, the phone has a slightly longer battery life than the Flip 6, although it still requires a daily charge for average use.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 is Not Yet Good Enough

The drawback we perceive is the camera’s lack of technical improvement. Fold 6 has a 50-megapixel main sensor, 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and 10-megapixel 3x optical zoom cameras on its back. The unfolded screen conceals a 10-megapixel camera and a 4-megapixel under-screen sensor on its front. The image quality of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6, whether it was capturing portraits at night and on a sunny day, or capturing a group of friends chatting in a dim bar, was nice, but not as good as that of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 camera

Samsung launched new Galaxy AI features on the Z Fold6, including turning selfies into AI-generated images and creating a polished sketch of an image. The Z Fold6 also supports previously released AI features, such as the ability to erase or manipulate objects in photos, translate text messages and phone calls, initiate a Google search by simply circling an object, and summarize, reformat, and translate Samsung notes. Well, many Galaxy AI-generated features are not used daily and feel targeted at specific circumstances.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 Review: Yes or No

The folding phone market is becoming more competitive, with Samsung leading the way. Fold and flip Samsung devices are fantastically refined and as polished as non-folding phones. According to our team’s review, the Fold6’s ability to adjust all apps to the screen when folded halfway significantly enhances its appeal. However, the real question is whether the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 is truly worth the $1900 price tag. Indeed, this device is not pocket-friendly.

Therefore, we advise you to carefully consider your top priorities when choosing a phone, as it will be a significant investment. If you want a phone with a wide variety of apps that work well in the flex mode, the Z Fold 6 is probably the best choice. However, if you prioritize a wider cover screen, a high-quality camera, and advanced AI features, the Fold 6 may not meet your expectations.

However, neither our team nor I personally would gravitate toward the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6. We hope to have the additional features we’ve been waiting for without a significant price increase.

New Leaked Photos of Meta Quest 3S VR Headset https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=meta-quest-3s/ https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=meta-quest-3s/#respond Mon, 16 Sep 2024 12:03:27 +0000 https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=?p=248342 Based on some rumors and leaks that came from Meta itself and other sources, it is expected to see a Meta Quest 3S headset at a Meta Connect event. The headset seems like Quest 3 but with a bulkier body and a low-resolution display. A South Korean forum site, Arcalive, which is similar to Reddit, has exposed some images of the headset. The images show the headset from the front, top, bottom, and both sides. One of the images also shows its regulatory label, which reveals its battery capacity is rated at 16.74 Wh.

Quest 3S
Quest 3S

The view also confirms that it’s the first Meta headset to lack a 3.5mm headphone jack. This means to get higher quality and private audio without risking latency, Quest 3S owners will have to purchase USB-C audio solutions that do not support charging while playing.

One more rumor about the Meta Quest 3S is that the headset will be without a controller that will rely on the improvement of hand tracking. Moreover, some Chinese sites have also started to sell protective covers for the new headset with the camera cutouts.

The Quest 3S will probably cost less than the previous headsets and will be a great option for all because of its affordability. The Meta Quest 3S headset is also expected to offer more features and replace the Quest 2 and Quest 3.

Meta Cancels Plan to Make VR Headset to Compete with the Apple Vision Pro https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=meta-cancels-plan-to-make-vr-headset/ https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=meta-cancels-plan-to-make-vr-headset/#respond Sun, 25 Aug 2024 07:46:55 +0000 https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=?p=248083 Meta cancels plan to make VR headset to compete with Apple Vision Pro, according to The Information.

Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth has also posted about the report. He said the company has “many prototypes in development at all times, but we don’t bring all of them to production; we move forward with some; we pass on others. ” He further said that “decisions like this happen all the time, and stories based on chatter about one individual decision will never give the real picture.”

It seems like Meta cancels plan to make VR headset to compete with Apple Vision Pro but still has some preparations for more headsets and mixed-reality tech in the future, as it is reported that Meta will show off some new glasses in its Meta Connect event. Moreover, The Quest 4 is also reportedly arriving in 2026 with a standard and premium version.

Asus Rog Ally Vs Steam Deck: A Handheld Battle https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=asus-rog-ally-vs-steam-deck/ https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=asus-rog-ally-vs-steam-deck/#respond Mon, 12 Aug 2024 10:00:00 +0000 https://psppi.unisba.ac.id/?big=?p=247887 Are you stuck between the Asus Rog Ally Vs Steam Deck? Which is better and which to choose? We have broken down everything for you to read, and select the one you like.

Asus Rog Ally Vs Steam Deck

Since its launch, the Steam Deck has dominated the handheld gaming PC industry. But, now the Rog Ally is here to give it a tough competition. It would be interesting to see if it can beat the OG.

Steam’s deck runs on its own Valve’s custom OS and is limited to Steam games only. On the other hand, the Rog Ally uses Windows 11 and doesn’t have any such limitations. Rog Ally will win over Steam Deck for those who are new, but Steam Deck’s popularity cannot be beaten easily, even with its aging hardware. Let’s see how Rog Ally compares to the Steam Deck.

Design And Display

The Rog Ally and Steam Deck are both very similar in terms of looks. Both come with a screen sandwiched between the two ABXY sides from the controller pad. Steam deck looks a little bit old-school with its black and grey color scheme. While, the Rog Ally plays it cool with its white color and light-up RGB thumb sticks.

The Rog Ally is a sleek device and has a slimmer profile compared to Steam Deck. But somewhere, it lacks that sense of stability and weightiness that Steam’s Deck offers. Although, the weigh difference between both of them is only 60 grams. It is big and bulky and makes good use of the space with its quality thumb sticks and buttons and their infamous trackpads.

The Rog Ally does lack in certain places, and the foremost is that it doesn’t have any trackpads, also the buttons and thumbsticks feel a little bad and cheap. But not as bad as the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con. Yet, it does have some extra features like fingerprint sensors on the power button, as well as faster Wi-Fi and an external GPU connecter.

The Asus Rog Ally is comfy and comes in handy while traveling because of its smaller size. But when it comes to daily use, one can absolutely not let go of Steam Deck.

When it comes to display, the Rog Ally is better in almost every aspect.

The Rog Ally has a higher resolution at 1080p and comes at a 120Hz refresh rate and a brightness of 500 nits, resulting in a much smoother and brighter screen display. The Steam Deck, on the other hand, has a resolution of 800p and a refresh rate of 90Hz with a higher brightness of 1000 nits.

Specs

The thing that makes the Asus really exciting and popular is the underlying hardware. Rog Ally has AMD’S Z1 Series processors, which are custom APUs having Zen 4 CPU cores and RDNA 3 GPU cores. Two models of the Rog Ally have AMD Z1 processors, which are both very different.

The Ryzen Z1 is the weaker processor of the two and comes with six Zen 4 cores and 4 RDNA 3 cores, giving a total of up to 2.8 TFLOPs of theory performance. In contrast, the Ryzen Z1 Extreme comes with eight Zen 4 cores and a massive 12 RDNA 3 cores. According to AMD, this enables a performance that is higher up to 8.6 TFLOPs. Although Rog Ally was the first to use the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip, there are competitors now.

In comparison, the Steam Deck has much weaker hardware. The hardware, regardless of any of its models can only go up to having 4 Zen 2 cores and eight RDNA 2 cores and gives a total of 1.6 TFLOPs of theory performance. The limit for Steam Deck’s APU is only 15W, while Rog Ally can go up to 30W in Turbo mode.

Despite the big differences, the Rog Ally and Steam Deck do have some specs in common. Both come with 16 GB of LPDDR5 memory and include a Micro SD card slot for expanding the storage. They both also come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and support USB-C charger.

Performance

The Rog Ally is much faster than the Steam Deck. On competing with the same APU wattage and resolution, we can say that Rog Ally is 50% faster than Steam Deck. But, it is important to note that the Rog Ally can scale up significantly higher, too. While the Steam Deck is limited to 15W, the Rog can go up to 30W when charging and in Turbo Mode.

It was very clear from the start that the Rog Ally would be faster. It has a great performance mood and can run the most demanding games in today’s date at medium settings, all the while maintaining 30fps. We ran some tests on a few different games with different launchers to compare the two.

The tests clearly showed that the Extreme Z1 chip is superior. At 720p and the 15W power setting, the ROG Ally scored 38fps in Total War: Three Kingdoms, in Borderlands 3 it scored 57fps, and scored 64fps in Hitman 3, in comparison to the steam’s 25, 42, and 44.

Operating System

The main difference between the Rog Ally and Steam Deck is the operating system. While Rog Ally uses Windows 11, the Steam Deck OLED uses a Linux-based SteamOS. Both OS have their pros and cons. It provides an easy-to-use, streamed line interface to support handheld gaming. It is also associated with the largest distribution network for PC games. But it does have its problems.

To start with, SteamOS is highly prone to bugs. If the Wi-Fi is turned on and you are away from the charger, the handheld will get confused and think it’s out of battery, even when it’s fully charged. These kinds of unconventionalities are widespread in SteamOS.

The most differentiating factor for Deck is that its OS is built on Linux. This ultimately leads you to be unable to play quite a few games. It also blocks out anti-cheat software and games on other marketplaces like the Xbox app. Rog’s Windows 11 solves these problems and allows you to play games from other storefronts and titles that use anti-cheat software. Along with all this, there are some downsides to Windows 11 as well.

The most concerning thing about Windows 11 is that it is a desktop operating System and not a handheld gaming OS. It is very troublesome to navigate Windows on a 7-inch touch screen without a mouse or keyboard. And the whole process of installing games on your device can be irritating. But this all can be avoided if you are satisfied with the Steam games.

Price

Along with all the other aspects, the price point also needs to be in consideration in this handheld battle. The starting price for Steam Deck is $349 for 64 GB of slow storage. To get 512 GB (which Rog Ally’s Z1 Extreme has), you will have to spend $449. But if you don’t want to spend this much, you can go for refurbished Steam Decks, which Valve is offering currently, as it cuts the price down to as low as $279.

Valve is now phasing out both the 64GB and 512GB models with the arrival of Steam Deck OLED. Now, you will have the 256GB model at $399. In contrast, it will come at two different price points. The 512GB version will be for $549, and the 1TB of storage will be $649.

The Rog Ally’s pricing is simple. The Rog Ally with Z1 Extreme costs $700 and is exclusively available at Best Buy. While, the cheaper version with Ryzen Z1 comes priced at $600. The ROG Ally is faster than the Steam Deck, but now, it’s also significantly more expensive.

Game Pass

Game pass is one of the major differences between Asus Rog Ally and Steam Deck. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Steam Deck lacks in this department. Rog Ally feels like the unofficial handheld Xbox. Although the Xbox game pass on Ally is still somewhat buggy, it gives an overall pleasing experience. It also highlights the Xbox game pass and Xbox Play Anywhere.

Same with the Steam Deck isn’t this simple. The gamer will first have to install Windows on Steam Deck (preferably on a different Memory Card). It is pretty much time-consuming and too much work for most of the users. Also the probability of it working fine is less.

Final Verdict

Both the Asus Rog Ally and the Steam Deck have their own positive and negative points. While the Rog Ally seems to be unbeatable, you can absolutely not ditch your Steam Deck for it, especially after the rough update Rog has gone through. So, if you are new to the gaming world, you should prefer Rog Ally. But for a Steam Deck user, it is not worth upgrading to Rog Ally.

They were smart enough, yet they wanted to become smarter. So, Ray-Ban Meta extended time for video recording. The glasses already had amazingly good open-ear headphones, a built-in 12MP camera, and a bunch of other features. Still, they made some big changes in the device, including the increased record time.

One of the significant changes in version 6.0, as reported by Digital Trends, the Ray-Ban Meta extended time for video recording to up to three minutes. While this might seem like a drastic shift, the default record time remains at a comfortable 60 seconds. Adjusting it to your preference is a breeze-simply navigate to the camera settings and modify the length as you see fit.

Meta also incorporated options for music, and now the glasses support Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music. If all of this makes you stressed, don’t worry; Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses got you. These even have installed Calm app to keep you at ease, so you can enjoy your desired meditations or Daily Calm. So you are going to have a lot more fun from these than the last version.
