Google Released Android 16 Developer Preview 2 for Pixel Devices

Google Released Android 16 Developer Preview 2

Google is set for an early launch of Android 15 in 2025. So, it is not surprising that Google released Android 16 Developer Preview 2 (DP2) for Pixel devices. This Android 16 DP2 update enables the testing of new features and APIs: application programming interfaces.

We are starting to get a better clue of what to expect from the upcoming major update of Google. However, according to Google, “Android 16 DP2 focus should be on the changes they have made that were designed to improve the app experience, improve battery life, and boost performance while minimizing incompatibilities.”.

In addition to that, things like triggered profiling, job execution optimizations, adaptive refresh rate, advanced haptics, health connects, and search within cloud media providers through the photo picker, advanced WiFi security, and screen-off fingerprint unlock are also part of this Android 16 DP2 release.

Google is working on a ton of features, but it is unlikely that all of them will make it to beta or stable. Well, we don’t have to wait for Android 16 Beta, as it arrives in January 2025, which means you could get it within the next week.
