NVIDIA Force Relaunch the 12GB RTX 4080 as the RTX 4070 Ti

The rumor mill is starting to churn out the next big thing, and this time it’s coming in the form of NVIDIA’s reported rebranding plan. It seems that they might be relaunching their RTX 2080 with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM, but it can also come with 12GB of GDDR8 VRAM on an additional PCB.

According to the leaker, this model could be called the RTX 4070 Ti and will come with a TU104 GPU under the hood paired with 24 SMs for a total of 2176 CUDA cores. Also, this SKU will have an 8+6 pin power configuration and is expected to fill the void left by the GTX 1080 Ti.

As for the price, the alleged card is expected to retail for around $550, which puts it almost at par with its predecessor. Meanwhile, we have no further information about this model, and hopefully, more details will come out in the coming weeks.

The original leaker has spoken up on Twitter and claimed their post is a mere miscommunication of information. Of course, we can’t verify if this is true, but for now, you might want to take this with a grain of salt.

Rumors Propose the RTX 4070 Ti Will Replace the RTX 4080 12GB – The Next Big Thing

It seems that another leak has appeared online. It’s not a new GPU, but I hope this one will pass. For starters, the leaker claims that NVIDIA is going to relaunch its RTX 2080 GPU with 8GB of GDDR6 memory. Of course, you might be thinking, why are they doing this?

The leaker claims that the RTX 2080 can now come with 12GB of GDDR8 VRAM via a new PCB. According to them, this model could be called the RTX 4070 Ti and will have a TU104 GPU underneath paired with 24 SMs for a total of 2176 CUDA cores. Also, this card will have an 8+6 pin power configuration allowing it to compete directly with the GTX 1080 Ti.

We still don’t know if NVIDIA has something like this planned for us, but I hope so since it’s another way for them to fill the void left by the GTX 1080 Ti. I mean, look at the RTX 2070, and you will see what I’m talking about here; it’s like a paperweight in terms of performance with the same price range.

Sadly, we still don’t know when we will get our hands on this, so please stay tuned for more details. In the meantime, you might want to check out the leaker’s Twitter post, as I’m sure they will be able to clear things up soon.

It’s a Delicate Time for NVIDIA & Its 12GB RTX 4080 GPU

I wish I had a better excuse for making this post, but my head is blank. This should not have been posted at all or anywhere else whatsoever. You can tell how serious things are when we haven’t even seen proper leaks of the supposed RTX 3080. We only got 50% thinner models with worse heat dissipation and a huge dent in the RTX family.

As mentioned, we still don’t know what NVIDIA has in store for its next-gen GPU lineup, but hopefully, they can get it right this time around. For those who want to learn more about this story, you might want to check out the leaker’s Twitter post on the matter.
