The new WhatsApp update introduces three new features to make it a viable competitor to Zoom, FaceTime, and Google Meet for better group calls and video chats. The new features include:
- Screen sharing
- A higher participant count
- Speaker spotlight
Screen sharing is useful for watching videos together, sharing content that is not easily shareable, and fixing your parents’ gadgets. In addition to screen sharing, WhatsApp also expanded its participant count to 32 people on video calls.
Moreover, the speaker spotlight feature is another pinch in the WhatsApp update. In this feature, the person talking appears first in the row of participants, and their profile picture is highlighted to identify who has the mic.
