WhatsApp has now brought a new feature to the app to solve the in-app storage issues for its users.
Instead of sufficient storage on WhatsApp, many users face a shortage of space due to the greater frequency of media sharing.
In order to make the better user experience, the instant messaging platform is working on a new update that will automatically terminate groups to save space, according to WaBetaInfo.
The new update that brings the new version up to 2.5.0.71, known as expiring groups, will let users set an expiry date for the groups. When the date arrives, people will be reminded to clean the group.
Although, the update is still in the development process and is not yet ready to be released to beta testers. The new feature option will soon be visible to users within the group info in a future update.
As per the reports, users can select from various expiration options like one day, one week, or a custom when the new update is released. They will also be able to remove the earlier set date in case they change their mind.
Moreover, people will have their preference if they want to apply this feature or not, as it will not apply to other group members. This feature proves helpful in decluttering your WhatsApp account and will save storage on the app.
