Tesla increases Model X and Model S prices by $2,000 in the US and Canada. This is indeed a very interesting move after seeing the declining sales of the Tesla Model S and Model X.
Tesla combined the delivery of the Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X, and Cybertruck, along with the Tesla Semi, into the “other models” category. For this reason, tracking the sales of each product becomes very hard.
Official data from last quarter indicate that Tesla’s Model X/S sales will decline by 31-37% year over year. Based on Tesla’s Cybertruck and Tesla Semi deliveries last quarter, we estimate Model S/X sales to be around 12,000–13,000 units.
Despite the showdown in sales and Tesla hiding it, Tesla increases Model X and Model S prices. The customers are now priced at $2,000 more.
The new prices are:
- Model X: The starting range is $79,990 for the Long Range. Whereas the plain version costs $94,990.
- Model S: The starting range is $74,990 for the Long Range. Whereas the plain version costs $89,990.
Even with the increased price, the Model X Long Range price doesn’t exceed the $80,000 MSRP limit to qualify for the federal tax credit.
